Oppo Enco BDS 3 Pro Review: Everything You Need to Know
So friends, finally after 3 years, Oppo remembered that it’s time to launch a TWS in India. And here it is — Oppo Enco BDS 3 Pro. We will talk about it in detail, but before that, I really want to talk about the Oppo Enco BDS 2. Three years ago, when it launched, I purchased it, and let me tell you, it has survived quite a lot. It even went through a full wash in the laundry — yes, literally washed in water and left to dry in the sun. Surprisingly, it still works perfectly. This just shows how solid Oppo’s build quality has been from the start.
Design and Build of Oppo Enco BDS 3 Pro
The Oppo Enco BDS 3 Pro comes in a black matte finish, but there’s also a white glossy variant that gives a slightly premium look. The case design has changed from the round design of the BDS 2 to a more compact, modern style seen in most TWS today. Carrying it in the pocket is very easy and convenient.
- The front of the case has the Oppo logo and a single LED for battery indication.
- When you open the lid, it shows the earbuds’ battery percentage.
- Closing the lid shows the case’s battery percentage.
- Type-C charging port is at the bottom.
The lid mechanism is strong with magnetic closure, and the earbuds stay firmly in place. Even if you shake the case or carry it in a bag, they won’t fall out.
Comfort and Fit of Oppo Enco BDS 3 Pro
The earbuds have a stem design that is slightly shorter than the previous BDS 2, but still very comfortable for long listening sessions. The IP55 rating allows them to handle light sweat, so you can use them during workouts or running. Touch controls include single tap, double tap, triple tap, and touch-and-hold. These can be customized to control music, volume, and assistant functions. The ergonomics are good, and it doesn’t cause any discomfort even after several hours of use.
Call Quality and Outdoor Experience
When it comes to calls, the BDS 3 Pro is decent. Outdoor call quality is average — in noisy areas like highways, the clarity drops a bit, but indoors, the voice is clear. So if you make a lot of calls outside, keep in mind that there are better options for outdoor clarity. For casual indoor calls, it works fine.
Battery Life and Connectivity
- Earbuds: Up to 12 hours on a single charge
- Earbuds + Case: Up to 54 hours
- Bluetooth 5.4 ensures strong, stable connectivity
- Dual device support allows connecting two devices simultaneously
In my testing, using 60% volume for continuous music playback, 30% battery was remaining after 8 hours. That’s a noticeable improvement over the BDS 2, which only provided around 28 hours including the case.
Features and App Support
The HeyMelody app provides additional functionality:
- Separate battery percentage for earbuds and case
- Custom EQ with presets like Original, Bass Boost, Clear Vocals
- Ultra-low latency game mode (~47ms)
- Dual device connection toggle
- Touch control customization
- Firmware updates
The app makes the experience customizable and convenient, giving you control over sound and touch controls.
Sound Quality
This is where Oppo really excels. The 12.4mm large driver delivers a balanced sound with clear highs, detailed vocals, and decent bass. The bass is subtle but can be enhanced via app EQ. Compared to BDS 2, the sound is slightly less punchy but remains excellent, especially for classical, sad, or romantic tracks. For casual listening at home, it’s a delight.

Who Should Buy Oppo Enco BDS 3 Pro
If music is your main focus and you don’t make a lot of outdoor calls, this is an excellent choice under ₹2,000. If you already own BDS 2, upgrading isn’t necessary, but features like dual pairing, improved battery, and app-based EQ customization may tempt you.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Oppo Enco BDS 3 Pro delivers strong sound, comfortable fit, and impressive battery life. Ideal for music lovers at home or casual listening. Don’t expect high-end ANC or superior outdoor call performance. Price-wise, it’s around ₹1,800, often discounted to ₹1,500–₹1,600 during sales. For its sound quality alone, it’s tough to beat at this range.
